quick reminders
- Contestants must be in full western attire one hour before showtime; during warm-up in the arena, and when behind/on the chutes (even if not competing in that performance).
- Contestants vetting out a horse, must provide a valid vet note and that horse may not compete for 7 days from the rodeo performance.
- Slack is NOT a preference during entries and will only be offered if performances are filled. Those contestants entering the same preference 3 times, will be considered as OUT for their second and third preferences.

TIE-DOWN ROPING
Only Longhorn or Corriente breeds will be used in this discipline.
Bell-collar catch only. If not a bell-collar catch, an immediate no time will be assessed and the run is done.
In the Tie down roping, the animal falling to the ground at any time during the transition of the catch, will result in a disqualification.
After the first step towards the horse, calf may be untied.
Jerk down will result in a disqualification and $200 fine.
A disqualification will be assessed if the calf is dragged once the tie is complete, or if the calf is caught by the leg(s) or pulled by the tail (if over drag is intentional, disqualification + $200 fine).
All calves used in the Tie-down roping must exceed the weight of 175 pounds, and must not exceed the weight of 275, and be in good physical health.
STEER WRESTLING
Only Longhorn or Corriente breeds will be used in this discipline.
In the event of a steer dog-fall, the steer wrestler will receive a no time and the run is done.
All steers used in the Steer Wrestling must exceed 375 pounds and be in good physical health.
New Payout structure for Steer Wrestling
- 1-4 contestants, pays 1 place (100%)
- 5-10 pays 2 (60-40%)
- 11-16 pays 3 (50-30-20%)
- 17-25 pays 4 (40-30-20-10%)
- 26-40 pays 5 (30-25-20-15-10%)
- 41-70 pays 6 (29-24-19-14-9-5%)
- 71 & over pays 8 (23-20-17-14-11-8-5-2%)
PAYOUTS
Payouts of standard events will be based on the breakdown as stated in the IPRA Rulebook.
Youth events (JBAR, JBR, JSR, CR, JPB) will be paid out as follows:
- 5 or less contestants, pays 2 places
- 6-10 pays 3
- 11-20 pays 4
- 21-40 pays 6
- 40+ pays 8
Please note that individual rodeo circuits may keep points for participation in order to qualify for their finals. Please refer to those websites for standings.
GYMKHANA EVENT PAYOUTS
For convenience, sanctioned rodeos having gymkhana are paid via the entry system used by the IPRA. Please refer to gymkhana sanction websites for standings.
- 5 or less pays 2 (60%, 40%)
- 6-10 pays 3 (50%, 30%, 20%)
- 11-20 pays 4 (40%, 30%, 20%, 10%)
- 21-40 pays 6 (29%, 24%, 19%, 14%, 9%, 5%)
- 41-60 pays 8 (23%, 20%, 17%, 14%, 11%, 8%, 5%, 2%)
- 61+ pays 10 (24%, 19%, 16%, 13%, 8%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 2%)
