Tie-Down Roping

Only Longhorn or Corriente breeds will be used in this discipline.

Bell-collar catch only. If not a bell-collar catch, an immediate no time will be assessed and the run is done.

In the Tie down roping, the animal falling to the ground at any time during the transition of the catch, will result in a disqualification.

After the first step towards the horse, calf may be untied.

Jerk down will result in a disqualification and $200 fine.

A disqualification will be assessed if the calf is dragged once the tie is complete, or if the calf is caught by the leg(s) or pulled by the tail (if over drag is intentional, disqualification + $200 fine).

All calves used in the Tie-down roping must exceed the weight of 175 pounds, and must not exceed the weight of 275, and be in good physical health.

Steer Wrestling

Only Longhorn or Corriente breeds will be used in this discipline.

In the event of a steer dog-fall, the steer wrestler will receive a no time and the run is done.

All steers used in the Steer Wrestling must exceed 375 pounds and be in good physical health.

 

 

 

Breakaway Roping

Cattle must be uniform size, weight, breed in good health and condition, with less than 1-inch horn.

Bell-collar catch only. If not a bell-collar catch, a no time is assessed.

Timed Event Cattle

Cattle must be uniform size, weight, and breed; in good health and condition.

Contractor must supply a minimum of 12 head suitable for the draw unless there is less than 12 entries; then a minimum of 1 more than the max runs a day will be provided  (perf and slack combined), or else with permission.
